If you are reading this you may be on a toxic, acne diet. And you probably didn’t even know you were on a diet, did you? An acne diet consists of foods that trigger acne outbreaks. It is acidic and toxic to you and your system. These foods are very individual to YOU. You may have noticed that some of us can eat all the pizza, greasy foods and carbonated beverages we want and have clear skin.
Some of us eat very healthy foods and still have outbreaks. It can only be the way our bodies react to the foods we eat.
Acne is a symptom of internal distress. You are stressing out your internal organs, especially your liver, kidneys and lungs.
The pro acne diet consists of acidic foods such as meat, wheat products, sugars and diary products - the normal America diet. Almost anything that makes you body more acidic, makes it more prone to acne outbreaks.
Most prescription medicines, food additives, food colorings and flavor enhancers - and of course the teenager’s wild hormones - make the body acidic.
One of the common symptoms of your body being acidic/toxic is acne or other skin problems. Rough dry skin, red patches, dry flaky skin - all these are because your body is out of touch with itself.
Acne happens to you when your liver, kidneys and bowels try to process more waste and toxins than they can handle. When this happens your begin to expel toxins through your skin and lungs.
This causes your natural skin oil production to go into high gear. It can also cause your skin oil to be thicker which can cause the pores to become blocked and lead to acne outbreaks. Your skin becomes a very friendly and fertile place for the acne causing virus and accompanying bacteria to flourish.
This is when the breakouts start.
The answer is to get your elimination system in order and to make your skin a bit alkaline. This makes your body unfriendly to acne and your skin clears up. I don’t know why this works, just that it does.
The way you accomplish this is an anti acne diet.
First - cut back on refined carbohydrates and sugar. They both increase your production of androgens and sebum by taking processing time, which slows your elimination of toxins.
Second - start drinking plenty of water as water is used to expel the toxins in your system. Water will also thin out the skin oil and allow it to travel through the pores without clogging them. Lots of water will also help eliminate the toxins on your skin.
These toxins get into the pores and the bacteria feed on them. The next thing you know, you have a pimple.
You should drink at least two quarts of water daily.
Third - get plenty of fiber in your diet. Eat more beans, apples, green vegetables and more bran. These help your colon expel waste along with the toxins more efficiently.
Fourth - eat rich antioxidant foods. Foods like apples, oranges, watermelon and almost any other fresh fruit. These will help heal your skin and help it deal with the acne triggers.
Fifth - take a supplement of zinc. Zinc seems to help heal the skin, along with vitamin E and A. The supplement should not be a high dosage, just the normal recommended amount.
Sixth - try an omega3 supplement. I don’t really know why it works, but it seems to be a good long-term acne treatment, in addition it is good for you.
Following an anti acne diet is not always easy, but will work. By all means use Tea Tree oil and 2.5% Benzoyl peroxide on your outbreaks. You will look and feel better for it.
But do follow an anti acne diet for the long run - it will make you acne free.

Should You Consider Rose Water As An Acne Cure?

There are lots of things people suggest to use to help with acne. Some of them are helpful, some are harmful, and some lie somewhere in between. Rose water is one of those in between things, it will neither help nor hurt, but as with most things, it may not hurt to try, as long as your expectations are realistic.
Rose water is the hydrosol portion of the distillate of rose petals, and is used for perfume, as a food flavoring, and is often used in religious ceremonies, either directly, or through incense. It can also be found in many cosmetic products, as it helps to moisten and soothe certain kinds of skin. If you look at many popular moisturizing creams, you’ll find it as an ingredient, though normally as an “inactive” one. It will also have the benefit of making your skin’s aroma quite pleasant, but that’s not what we’re after.
Note, in none of that statement did we mention its effect on acne, pore blockages, detoxification, or anything of the sort. That’s because its effect is negligible at best, non-existent at worst. If you are looking for a natural treatment for acne, rose water isn’t going to help you. That’s not to say that natural treatments don’t exist, or that rose water isn’t good for other things.
For instance, rose water is a very good treatment for dry skin, which can sometimes be a contributor to an acne problem. But, to stress, the connection here is tenuous. Dry skin alone is rarely a cause of acne, and hoping that doing this one thing will help is likely to disappoint. But, just like flossing your teeth is unlikely to help with your acne, it may be something you consider for your regular health regimen.
Should you wish to treat yourself with rose water, you have two choices, other than buying it as one of many ingredients in a cream. You can either use it as an astringent, and use it to cleanse your skin using a pad or cotton ball, or you can get rose petal powder, and use it in a steam bath. There are plenty of contraptions on the market that will let you do this. Both are likely to have the desired effect of softening and moisturizing, something which may be something good, but not exactly what we’re looking for.
You may find that your skin is softer, or less dry, but as an acne cure, rose water gets a failing grade.

There are several long-held and widespread myths about acne. Rather than add to our collective knowledge of the problem, they have only served to make things worse for those who suffer from it. If you suffer from an acne problem, you are much better off understanding and rejecting the myths that surround it, so that you can get on with dealing with your problem in a factual, accurate way. Many common myths will have you expending time and energy on treatments that won’t work, as well as depriving you of things that you truly enjoy, such as chocolate. (Good news, chocolate intake has no impact on your skin.)
In fact, there is no solid evidence of most normal foods causing acne outbreaks at all. Not chips, pizza, fried foods, or soda. At least not directly. Having a stable, healthy diet will certainly help your skin, but the occasional treat of greasy food isn’t going to lead to weeks of outbreaks. Of course, if something makes you actually break out, you should discontinue eating that food, but that occurrence should be rare. The food you eat does have some effects on your skin, in that it can effect the levels of toxins in your body. But natural food is unlikely to cause you too much distress.
Another myth is the idea that if you have an acne outbreak, that means you are unclean, or don’t wash often enough. You probably can debunk this one yourself, as you probably scrub your face several times a day, in an attempt to combat the problems you have. Clearly, washing your face even more is unlikely to change things. What does matter is the kinds of products you use, how often you use them, and what kind of skin you have. We’ve talked in past articles about how overly dry skin is actually worse than oily skin, when it comes to acne prevention. This can happen if you spend too much time scrubbing, and not focusing on keeping your skin healthy.
Finally, many people think that tanned skin wont break out with acne. The trick to any good myth is an element of truth, and this one has a small one. Tanned skin wont show an acne outbreak as easily, even though it is still there. This isn’t the same as not having one at all. In fact, once your tanned skin starts to die and flake off, it can be a cause of pore blockage, that will end up a problem in the future. Tanning yourself in hopes it will solve your problems isn’t going to do you much good.
And this only scratches the surface. There are dozens of “commonly known” acne myths, that don’t serve you very well to follow. If you suffer from acne, it makes sense to avoid or ignore these widely held falsehoods. Especially the ones that make little sense when you think about them, as if you see that they probably aren’t true, then they probably aren’t.

Unless you are one of the lucky few, you have had to deal with an acne breakout at some point in your life. For some, acne is a daily, ongoing problem. For others, who only have the occasional eruption, it can still be a painful, miserable experience.
Research has turned up several contributing factors to acne, but the specific cause is still elusive. Factors that are believed to create acne include hormones, your own genetics, toxin intake, skin care products, stress, diet and exercise patterns, and some medications. A woman’s menstrual cycle can be a cause, as is the hormonal changes that teens go through. Tight clothing, excess sweating, pollution, and skin irritants can all be factors, as well.
A moderate or severe case of acne often needs the help of a doctor, or dermatologist. However, minor outbreaks can often be treated by you at home. Commercially available products that contain benzoyl peroxide, resorcinol, salicylic acid and sulfur, are all able to treat a current outbreak in some way. Should you choose to use one of these products, watch to make sure that you aren’t irritating your skin further, and stop usage if any rashes or other signs develop.
If you are a woman who gets outbreaks with your menstrual cycle, it is often advisable to see a dermatologist, to see if what you are experiencing is normal hormonal changes. 4) Think about your cosmetics. Choose make-up that are noncomedogenic, and ideally oil-free, to keep your pores unclogged.
