Rather than using store-bought, off-the-shelf remedies to treat their acne, many people have begun to look for natural remedies that they can make and use at home. There are three good reasons to consider a home remedy for your acne. First, they are usually pretty cheap. You can use many common foods or other things at home that will help, and not cost too much. Effectiveness, many of the remedies listed below are highly effective, usually more than the stuff you can get at CVS. And finally, they are usually natural — or at least you can control everything you put on your skin.
Some examples of home remedies for acne include:
1) Toothpaste. No kidding. Toothpaste can help reduce the swelling caused by pimples. It’s pretty amazing, but it’s true. Put toothpase on your outbreaks that are swollen (not much, just a little) and you’ll see the effects by morning.
2) Lemon juice and rose water. Mix them together in equal parts, and apply to your skin. Leave it on for 30 minutes, and rinse it off. If you do this for several days in a row, not only will you help with your acne, it also lightens your skin and other skin blemishes.
3) Mint juice. Similar to rose water, mint juice can be used as a topical, cooling agent that helps tighten and otherwise soothe your skin.
4) Salt and Vinegar. Mix the two together, and stir. Apply with a cotton swab on your affected areas, and leave for 30 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
5) Cucumber facials. I suspect this isn’t news to you, but using a cucumber facial for 30 days a few times a week will keep your skin healthy, and prevent breakouts.
6) Milk. Mix milk with nutmeg, and you’ll create a paste that you can apply to outbreaks, and help rid yourself of the entirely.
And these are just a few of the home remedies for acne that you can try, just using simple, every day items. Not only are they lying around your house right now, they are all natural, and will help your skin, as well as your acne.
